Global Soft Start / Dump Valve – P32T Series (Compact) – Pneumatic Division Europe

P32T soft start / dump valves series are an important safety factor and prevent damage to systems when air pressure is introduced at machine or system start up as pilot operated device. P32T modular global compact combined soft start / dump valves provide for the safe introduction of pressure to machines or systems.  Soft start / dump valves, when set, allow the pressure to gradually build to the set point before fully opening to deliver full flow air line pressure. The controlled introduction can be an important safety factor and prevent damage to tooling when air pressure is introduced at machine or system start up. When the valve is installed into the pneumatic system and the pilot operator receives no signal, the air is blocked at port 1. When a pilot signal is received at the pilot operator, the valve shifts, closing the connection between ports 2 and 3. At the same time, air flow begins between ports 1 and 2 at a slow rate, controlled by the needle valve located on top of the valve. When the downstream pressure reaches approximately 60% of the supply pressure, the main valve spool opens, allowing full flow through the valve in the system. If pilot signal or system pressure is lost, the valve returns to its initial state, venting the downstream pressure through port 3.

Pressure supply piping must be the same size as the inlet port or larger, to insure the pilot valve receives sufficient pressure supply during high flow conditions. The valve should be mounted downstream of the FRL, with the soft start adjustment needle easily accessible. Note: soft start/dump valves are not intended to be used as emergency shut-off valves, but should be placed after a manual shut off valve. The P32T can be mounted using a modular connector to other P32 global air preparation products.
